How to activate AS Anti-Virus?
Attention! Before you activate the product, make sure the system date is set correctly on your PC.

Having copied the files the Setup Wizard suggests activating the copy of AS Anti-Virus the following way:
  • Activate with an activation code – it is necessary to enter 20-marks activation code. For successful activation your computer must be connected to Internet. In this case the Setup Wizard downloads and installs the license key file automatically.
  • Activate trial version (30 days) – the Setup Wizard downloads and installs a key file which is valid for 30 days. For successful activation your computer must be connected to Internet. The trial version is fully functional. When the trial key expires update of anti-virus databases is not available.
  • Use a license key obtained previously – add a key file which has not expired. This option suits users who switch from products of previous versions to version 10.0.
  • Activate later – skip activation on this step. Databases can be updated immediately after activation is complete.

    Note: activation code should be entered from the keyboard using Latin letters ONLY!



How to install AS Anti-Virus?
If you purchased AS Anti-Virus on a disc, then the installation process starts automatically after the Setup disc is inserted into the CD-ROM drive. If you have purchased the product in E-Store you get a link to an executable setup file which should be launched manually. If the Setup disc does not run automatically you also need to run the executable installation file manually. For it select a disc and a folder where AS Anti-Virus setup file is located and double-click the executable file. After you run the executable setup file the Setup Wizard of AS Anti-Virus is launched. After completing the installation process, your computer will be automatically restarted.



How to know the full version number of AS Anti-Virus?
To know the full version number of AS Anti-Virus, do the following:
  • open the main application window of AS Anti-Virus.
  • go to the Service tab.
  • in the right part of the window in the Product Info section you can find the necessary information.
  • minimize the main window of AS Anti-Virus



How can I disable AS Anti-Virus??
At the operating system startup AS Anti-Virus by default scans startup objects/files for malicious code. If you by some reason want to disable the function (for advanced users only), do the following:
  • Open the main window of AS Anti-Virus
  • Click the Settings menu
  • In the left part of the window in the Scan section click Startup Objects
  • In the right part of the window in the Run Mode section uncheck the Run on system start box
  • Click the Apply button
  • Minimize the main window of AS Anti-Virus
  • After it AS Anti-Virus will not scan startup objects/files when you boot your pc



How to detect trusted d riskware in AS Anti-Virus?
AS Anti-Virus detects trusted riskware. These programs are not malicious by their kind and do not contain the destructive code, but are potentially dangerous.

The function to detect trusted riskware in AS Anti-Virus is enabled by default. To disable this function, do the following:
  • open the main window of AS Anti-Virus
  • click the Settings menu and go to the Protection section
  • in the Malware Categories section uncheck the Spyware, adware, dialers box
  • click the Apply and OK buttons
Remote access utilities and prank programs also refer to trusted riskware in AS Anti-Virus. By default the function to detect this kind of riskware is disabled. To enable the function, do the following:
  • open the main window of AS Anti-Virus
  • click the Settings menu and go to Protection
  • in the Malware Categories check the Potentially dangerous software: remote access utility, prank programs, jokes box
  • click the Apply and OK button



What does the File Anti-Virus do?
Your PC’s file system may contain viruses and other Malware. Malware may be stored in your file system for years, having intruded your computer from a removable drive or from the Internet and does not show itself. But as soon as you open an infected file or try to copy it on a disk, the virus starts to function.

File Anti-Virus is a component that controls computer file system. It scans OPEN, LAUNCHED AND SAVED files on your computer and on all attached discs. Each file the user deals with is intercepted by AS Anti-Virus and scanned for viruses. The user can work with the file if the file is not infected or was successfully disinfected by AS Anti-Virus. If the file cannot be disinfected by some reasons, it is deleted or quarantined.



How to set File Anti-Virus?
A special component is included in AS Anti-Virus to protect files on your computer from infection, File Anti-Virus. To see or to change/configure File Anti-Virus settings, do the following:
  • Open the main application window of AS Anti-Virus
  • Click Settings in the upper menu
  • In the left part of the dialog window in the Protection section click File Anti-Virus
The following settings are pre-defined for the File Anti-Virus component:

  • Enable File Anti-Virus – enables or disables work of File Anti-Virus component.
  • Security level – selects and sets one of three security levels, configures customized security level, resets to default level.
  • Action over object – prompt for action when the scan is finished, prompt during the scan or do not prompt, disinfect or delete, if disinfection fails.



What does Mail Anti-Virus do?
E-mail is widely used by violators to spread Malware and worms as well. That is why it is extremely important to control all mails.

Mail Anti-Virus is the component that checks all incoming and outgoing messages of your PC. It analyzes e-mails for Malware. Recipient can open the message only if it has no dangerous objects.



How does Mail Anti-Virus work with the mail client Outlook?
In AS Anti-Virus, when the mail is scanned by the protocol IMAP4 in the mail client Outlook MS Office by default before scan all messages are downloaded on the computer locally.

In order Mail Anti-Virus from AS Anti-Virus would not scan these messages on delivery but would scan them only on read, do the following:

  • Open the mail client Outlook MS Office
  • In the upper menu select Tools > Options
  • In the open menu go to the AS Anti-Virus tab
  • Uncheck Scan upon receiving
  • Check Scan when read
  • Click the Apply button
  • Close all windows



What does the Web Anti-Virus do?
Surfing the Internet you may be at risk of getting a virus infection, attached to scripts that are started up at websites. Web Anti-Virus has been specially designed to prevent such infections. This component intercepts and blocks script execution located on the web-site if it is dangerous. HTTP - traffic is also under control.



What are the functions of Web Anti-Virus?
The Web Anti-Virus component as a part of AS Anti-Virus has the following two functions:
  • Scans traffic transferred via the HTTP protocol.
  • The improved version of Script Checker controls all launching scripts on Java and Visual Basic for Applications.



What does the Proactive Defense do?
Malware programs are growing in number rapidly every day. They are becoming more complicated and combine several types of Malware in one. Their methods of spreading are more and more difficult to detect.

To detect new Malware before it harms your PC, AS Anti-Virus contains a new special component – Proactive Defense. It controls and analyses the behavior of programs installed on your PC. The Proactive Defense component helps AS Anti-Virus decide whether the program is dangerous or not, thereby protecting your computer not only from already known viruses but from new ones as well.

Proactive Defense consists of the following components:
  • Application Activity Analyzer
  • Dangerous behaviour
  • Rollback of changes on detecting system dangerous activity
  • Launching internet browser with parameters

How to change the settings in AS Anti-Virus?
If you change the settings manually in AS Anti-Virus, then after you click the Apply button the security level of the settings change from Recommended to Custom settings. If you restore the settings and click the Apply button, then the level restores too.
